How lessons usually work

Expect a beach briefing (safety, paddling, pop-ups), then coached time in the water with feedback between waves. You'll start on a big, stable board — nobody learns on a shortboard, whatever the movies suggest. Most beginners stand up in the first sessions; real riding takes a week of trying.

Lineup etiquette that matters

• Don't drop in — if someone's already riding toward you, wait for the next one.
• Hold your board in whitewater; never throw it toward others.
• Start at the edges of the lineup while learning, away from the peak.
• Ask your coach — that's literally what they're there for.

How many days do you need?

Two days gives you a taste. Five to seven days gives you actual surfing — muscle memory needs repetition, and rest days matter too. A structured week like our $700 surf camp (coaching, yoga, food, bed) is the fastest honest route from zero to riding.

What to bring
